Prerequisite(s):
5513. Noise as a random process, analog and digital signal detection in
the presence of noise, optimum receiver design using signal space
concepts and introduction to information theory. Trade-offs between
bandwidth, signal-to-noise ratio and the rate of information transfer.
Example system designs include earth satellite, deep space and
terrestrial communication systems and computer communication networks.
